Personality + History
Personality:
History: June Maye was an outstanding beautiful Southern Belle from Alabama, her curls of auburn hair known well throughout the southern states having won the Miss Alabama title 4 consecutive years. A charming farm girl with a lovely southern drawl. She was kind but also a bit of a partier, throwing lavish parties for friends and family in her big city apartment. Her beauty and class (but mainly beautiful, I mean come on) is what drew Zeus to her.
During one of her parties he was disguised as a simple (total man hunk of a guy) party goer and woo'd Miss June off her feet. They had many, many meet-ups the first few months they were 'together'. Zeus revealed who he was on their first night because come on motherfucking King of the gods, gotta impress the lady even more. June became infatuated with Zeus despite knowing all about his behaviors, she even understood that what they had wasn't anything special to him, but it was to her. So when she found out she was pregnant she was ecstatic, upon bringing the new to the father however, he was much less excited. In fact, when she told him, without so much as a goodbye, he literally poofed into thin air and June would never see him again.
A little distraught, but still understanding of Zeus she planned on what to do next. She'd be giving birth to something...not entirely human. She went to the web for some research because hey, the myths were real right? There she was terrified of what she saw. Her and her child would be in danger constantly, Monsters and the wrath of other gods. Fearing for her safety and her child's safety. She cut ties with everyone she knew, friends and family. Taking her savings she fled Alabama, find a very small and remote town in Texas. There June set up a simple life for her and her son. The small town barely had 50 people in when she arrived, but they welcomed her with open arms.
June loved her baby boy from the second her was born, he became her light and joy. He was a rambunctious little boy that she dubbed her 'Little Hercules', obviously for Finn's namesake and such. She did everything she could for her baby raising him to be a proper gentleman. Though she couldn't see past the mist she knew the dangers existed and was very careful with him and who she'd leave him with. Life in Hardpan was simple but happy.
Once he could talk properly he'd speak of strange creatures he saw around. Nobody but his mom believed him, chalking it up to imagination. June tried telling her son all that she knew about his father and the greek myths, but such information did not stick with a young child and June would have to wait until he was older. But that didn't stop her talking about it with him.
Twelve years old and he knew all the stories about his father, Zeus, by heart. His mother fawned over the god, still deeply infatuated with him despite everything he's done. And the thought annoyed Finn quite a bit, that his mom would still love someone who abandoned her and her child leaving them in danger's way. Which has happened too many times to count in Finn's memory. All of the narrow escapes, his mom told him it was Hera, she had read it up...and there was a part of him that just didn't fully believe her. But he would humor her and still love her the same.
Unfortunately, all good things must end. It was a hot and dry summer's day in Hardpan, they were currently in the middle of a drought. Finn was 14 and he and June were passing the day away with sweet Iced Tea and checkers. She was going on about a beauty pageant story he's heard a million times already, but never got tired of. Suddenly the ground and all around them began to shake. Assuming it was an earthquake they quickly moved under the table to protect them from debris.
However the idea of it being an earthquake vanished very quickly. It did when a minotaur wielding an axe, bursted through the walls of their little house. It seems Hera decided to up her game a little bit. Shocked and terrified, by impulse he scooted away as far away as she could from the beast. And he managed to miss the axe swinging down on the table he had just been under...along with his mother. Scream stuck in his throat he kept scooting back away from it all as the minotaur began thrashing about the house destroying it.
Quickly it spotted it's target and wasted no time swinging the axe down on him. He threw his hands up in defense, as if that would change anything...and surprisingly it did. Finn had gathered static charge as he had gone along his carpet and his powers seemed to amplify it. The second the axe broke through the charge it sent a large shock into the beat sending him flying back. Dazed and confused Finn sat there trying to to scream, then he remembered his mom. He hurried over to the remnants of the table to see she had been bisected by the axe and was bleeding out. She held his hand and they said their tearful final goodbyes to each other before her last breath was taken. The minotaur didn't come back, Finn assumed that he managed to injure him enough to retreat.
To the townspeople is had been a tornado and his mother's death was a ceiling fan that flew from the spinning vortex onto the poor woman. The town tried sorting out what to do with the now orphaned Finn, still a child. Meanwhile Finn was trying to figure things out...everything everything his mother said was true. And if so...the people of his town would be in more danger. So he took what money he and his mom had and left.
He went traveling on the road, trying to find out more about himself. Doing odd jobs to raise money for things like motels and food. He never stayed in one place too long, just always traveling around smaller towns in Texas. He learned how to use what powers he could to defend himself and others from the greek beasts that stalked his trail. He has no real purpose in life at the moment. He's just living it as best he can doing what he can.
